Matthew McConaughey was on a podcast recently, saying he wants a private LLM trained only on his books, notes, journals, and aspirations.
He can do that with Projects in ChatGPT. Just upload PDFs, spreadsheets, docs, or images to give ChatGPT material to reference in its answers.
I don’t think that’s the best way to do it. Google’s NotebookLM is a better option.
NotebookLM only answers questions using the sources you upload, and says 'I don’t know' when the answer isn’t in them. No hallucinations. It provides clear citations, showing you the exact quotes from your sources.

NotebookLM uses Gemini and Gemini is not private!
My definition of a private LLM is one that runs entirely on your own computer. No external servers. No uploading.
Oh! NotebookLM, but offline. I love that!
But as far as I know, such a thing doesn’t exist 😔
